My field of expertise is general dental practice. I have been a qualified dentist since July 1996 and have worked in both hospital and general practice clinical environments.
I have worked in general dental practice since 1997 and, from 2003 - 2016, was principal of my own dental practice. I continue to work in clinical dentistry. In that time I have gained vast experience in all aspects of general dental practice entitling me to provide expert opinion on all matters related to general dental practice.
In July 2014, I was appointed as a clinical expert to the General Dental Council Fitness to Practice team. This role involves providing clinical advice for the GDC’s Fitness to Practice process. I have now worked with dental defence organisations and medical negligence solicitors as an independent dental expert witness.
In May 2016, I was awarded Cardiff University Bond Solon Civil Expert Witness Certificate. This involved formal training and assessment over 2 years in reports writing, courtroom skills, cross examination, civil law & procedures. I am also familiar with the Jackson Reforms and fully aware of Civil Procedure Rules, particularly Practice Direction Part 35. I have been assessed and accepted as a full, individual member of the Expert Witness Institute.
To expkand my knowledge in this feild, I am currently undertaking an LLM in Medical Law and Ethics (2018-2021).
